Marching Dragons
Marching band is for the first semester of band at PHS. During this time, you learn the music, perform at football games, march in parades, and practice, practice, practice! Other options for this semester (other than playing) are flag (color guard), drum major, and twirler. Three songs are usually performed at halftime, with the school song and the "Star Spangled Banner" for pre-game.
The highlight of marching season is the Neewollah Marching Festival. Here, many bands march in the parade, receiving ratings based on sound, marching, and uniformity of dress. Then, the band performs a halftime show where they receive ratings for that as well. Also, the flags (color guard) work up a routine to do for a rating aside from the regular band performance. It's a lot of fun, and it's a good opportunity to see how well other bands in the area perform.
On this site you'll see examples of the old and new marching uniforms. (Just FYI, the old ones were going on 18 years when we were finally able to get new ones. That's why they look ... the way they do. The new ones are shiny. We like shiny things.)
Here we are marching for pre-game.
This is a picture from 97-98 of our drum majors.
Here's an old uniform from 97-98.
This is also from 97-98, of the band coming down the street.
Also from 97-98, here's a mellophone player hard at work.

Here's the *NEW* uniform. (98)
Here we are making a 007 (the two zeros are not pictured) as we play the James Bond theme.
